Estimating the potential for a new mobile entrant

We developed a business case model of a new mobile entrant within a key Asian market for a global mobile manufacturer. We also estimated likely market trends and evaluated various network rollout strategies, with most of the research and analysis being conducted in-country. Our model and analysis were used to support the manufacturer’s bid process.

Financial modelling of backbone network

For a major global equipment manufacturer, we developed models for an operator’s backbone IP service that provides wholesale connections for ISPs and large enterprises, and an operator’s Voice over IP (VoIP) network. The models were used to support business cases for the operator and the manufacturer’s tender documents.

Identifying opportunities for rural base stations

On behalf of a global mobile manufacturer, we explored opportunities for extended range rural base stations in one of its key Asia-Pacific markets. We developed a model for a rural cell site connected to the network via satellite, and analysed the results to determine the breakeven point for the operator. Based on our analysis, we identified a number of potential locations without mobile coverage that would provide a positive return for the operator. This analysis was used to assist the manufacturer in its presentations to operators.
